Become the best at what you do | OWN your field
It goes without saying that we all have some innate desire to succeed and be great. We fantasize of life outside of our present circumstances. We want a lot in terms of money, stability, social engagement...but somewhere along the way life has a tendency to catch us all off guard. How then can anyone develop something of a universal method or set of principles for success when life doesn’t deal its hand fairly? Many of us are forced to play with a hand that seemingly puts us at a disadvantage. Perspective is everything and rest assured. All you have. Is all you need.
Success is attainable at any level. I’m not just talking the success you desire but the success that says wherever you put me, no matter the situation I’m in my work is going to speak for itself. You’ll think I’m coming for your job because that’s how great I’m going to do it even though, for me, this isn’t what I desire in the long. I will serve none the less.
In this practice I will grow as an individual in faith, favor & purpose. No matter what. I will succeed.
This is about really owning your environment - whatever that may be - as opposed to rattling the cages screaming:
.... even if we really do hate it here, we can still get onto the next thing while conquering the space we’re in right this second.
According to a Time Magazine article written in 2014 when striving for success there are four practices we should meticulously follow:
Always work hard to improve.
When choosing tasks and strategies, consider your natural gifts.
Pick a great team and get familiar with them.
Within reason, always help others.

In real world application, what exactly does this imply and how can I accomplish it? How sway?
Self-love = Self-improvement
KNOW. The best output you can give is your own
C.R.E.W. If the crew doesn’t help Create. If the crew doesn’t Reciprocate. If the crew doesn’t Encourage. If the crew doesn’t Work. If this is the company you keep. You need new company.
UNDERSTAND. You will always reap what you sew. What you give out is what you get back.
Journal Entry:
How can you better recognize self-love as self-improvement?
How is your C.R.E.W. serving you? How are you serving your C.R.E.W.?
In what was can you embrace becoming more of a giver? - Giving doesn’t always imply money or something of tangible value. It could also include time, energy, attention, etc.
What are your natural gifts?
